Trust is built by consistency. Knowing that, it seems natural that when looking to make big changes in our workplace culture, we’d implement a new strategy. Hopefully, we would make a consistent effort.

It’s not always the case.

“We like intensity, we like things that are fixed in time and easily measured,” explains renowned speaker and author Simon Sinek, in an RSA video. This is why ailing companies often undertake massive re-orgs or layoffs, or bring in new management. But that’s often a Band-Aid solution.

Great culture isn’t about intensity – it’s about consistency. Little things, when practiced regularly, are what make the biggest difference. It’s why spending one full day in the gym won’t make much of a difference, but 20 minutes every day will get you into shape.
