Despite the title of his latest book, Cameron Herold will be the first person to tell you that meetings don’t actually suck, we just suck at running them. But it doesn’t have to be this way. There are ways to turn a dreaded event into one that is both enjoyable and valuable.

In this issue of the Pulse, we share an episode of John Jantsch’s Duct Tape Marketing podcast, where Herold provides some great insight into the true cost of unproductive meetings (it’s a lot more than you think) and how to make our meetings better.

Steps such as setting an agenda, establishing a timeline, showing up early and only inviting those who really need to be there can produce the results we want, he explains. Regular meetings, like a brief daily huddle, can also have big benefits.
