As we grow older, we all become concerned with making a living. It can seem safer and easier to avoid risk than to take creative chances. However, we shouldn’t be afraid to wander down the trail of creative risk taking because creativity is an inherent part of everyone. Creativity is the engine of our economy and the essence of invention and innovation. But how do we tap into this creativity? As Kermit the Frog says, “There are as many ways to be creative as there are muppets.”

Kermit the Frog is a cultural icon who is recognized worldwide for his appearances on The Muppet Show, Sesame Street and a number of feature films. In this TEDx Talk from Jackson, Mississippi, Kermit explains the importance of looking at the world from an unusual perspective and discusses how creativity isn’t just reserved for artists. Even just sitting and listening to a talking amphibian is a radical act of creativity. Kermit’s creator and Mississippi native Jim Henson refers to this freedom of thought as a “conspiracy of craziness”, and that is exactly what being creative is all about.
